Moving in Ohio City the way our crew actually does it
Ohio City sits right across the Cuyahoga from downtown, and that closeness is the whole challenge. We move folks in and out of the brick rowhouses and rehabbed Victorians off West 25th, the new-build townhomes near the West Side Market, and the upper-floor flats above the Lorain Avenue storefronts. Almost none of it has an easy curb. We send our own W-2 crew with a truck sized to fit the street, not a big rig that blocks a lane for an hour.
The parking and the porches
The big jobs here come down to two things: where the truck goes and how the stairs run. A lot of the older homes have a narrow tree-lawn driveway or none at all, so we scout the spot first and pull a shuttle plan if West 25th or Bridge Avenue is too tight. Then there are the porch steps and the turning-bunk staircases inside the Victorians, the kind that eat a sofa if you do not know to stand it on end. Our chiefs have run these blocks long enough to call it before the box truck even backs in.
Steep basements and tight streets
Half the moves we do in Ohio City have a steep, stone-walled basement holding a washer, a freezer, or a workbench somebody swore they would never move again. We carry stair rollers and pads for exactly that. And because parking around the Market is real, we lock in a start window so the truck is loaded and gone before anybody papers it.
One flat rate, written down
You get one fair flat rate from us in writing before move day. We do not quote you a friendly number over the phone and then add for the porch, the stairs, or the shuttle once the couch is on the dolly. What Sharon writes is what you pay. That is the whole reason Russ started this company.
